DISCOVER FLORENCE AS A FAMILY
Family-friendly guided tours in Florence
I am Giulia Bacci, a licensed tour guide, art historian and mother of three. I have always tried to make museums, squares and monuments feel familiar and engaging for children without sacrificing the quality of the story.
Each tour is adapted to the children’s ages, pace and interests while also involving the adults. The aim is not to simplify art, but to find the right way to observe, explain and remember it together.
THE RIGHT PACE
A rhythm designed for children
The duration, breaks and number of works are adjusted to the children’s ages, avoiding itineraries that are too long or tiring.
STORIES AND DETAILS
Art becomes a discovery
Animals, symbols, myths, characters and hidden details help children enter the works through questions, stories and close observation.
TAILOR-MADE TOURS
Every family is different
We can choose the historic centre, a museum or a particular theme and adapt the visit to the interests of both children and adults.
FOUR IDEAS TO GET STARTED
Ways to explore Florence with children
These suggestions can be adapted or combined according to the children’s ages and the time available.
SUITABLE FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN
The lion, the iris and the Porcellino
A walk through the historic centre in search of Florence’s symbols. From Piazza della Signoria to the Loggia del Mercato Nuovo, we meet the Marzocco lion, the Florentine lily and the famous Porcellino through a story that turns the city into a small fairy tale.

RECOMMENDED FROM AGE 8
The artist hunt
A detective trail through the squares, façades and sculptures of the historic centre. Where is Leonardo hiding? Why is there an iguana near the Uffizi? Who is holding Medusa’s head? Clues and details lead children to the artists and their stories.
RECOMMENDED FROM AGE 7
The Uffizi with children
The Uffizi can become a journey through horses, dragons, flowers, myths and portraits. We select a manageable number of works — from Botticelli and Leonardo to Piero della Francesca and Caravaggio — so that children can learn to look without turning the visit into a race.

A MUSEUM FULL OF SURPRISES
Armour and knights at the Stibbert Museum
The Stibbert Museum is especially fascinating for families. European armour, knights, weapons, clothing and objects from different cultures turn the visit into an encounter with distant worlds and adventurous characters.
A tour that involves the whole family
You do not have to choose between a tour that interests adults and one that suits children. A well-designed family tour allows everyone to observe, ask questions and discover Florence through different kinds of curiosity.
