Stories of Giampaolo Talani: a very personal exhibition
Giampaolo Talani had been my favourite contemporary artist for many years. Long before I worked on this exhibition, I had discovered one of his unmistakable sailors by chance, then began following his shows, reading catalogues and learning more about his work.
That personal path eventually led to Stories of Giampaolo Talani at FirenzeArt Gallery. For me, curating the exhibition alongside artistic director Niccolò Mannini was therefore much more than a professional appointment: it brought together years of admiration and a new curatorial experience.
The exhibition opened on 6 April 2017, bringing Talani’s sea, figures and stories into the gallery.
